Paul has over 30 years experience in International Financing and Project Management at three money center banks and International Customer Finance and Emerging Market customer financing at two major corporations.
Paul served on the Board of the Association of Washington State Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, providing business leadership and coordination with the different business stakeholders in the State of Washington.
He was also on the finance committee, helping develop processes and procedures to help insure the long term viability of the AWSHCC.
Paul also serves on the Board of directors of the Mercer Island Youth and Family Services foundation, and is the founder and head of Wanda’s Wallet, a foundation designed to help disadvantaged high school children on Mercer Island.
Paul was also the Board Chair of the Washington State Small Business Export Assistance Center for six years, appointed by Governors Locke and Gregoire.
Paul was also the founder and first President of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon, founded in 1975 in Portland, which exists and thrives today under a different name.
Currently retired, Paul held a series of senior positions related to Finance in Latin America and emerging markets, at First Interstate Bank (now Wells Fargo), ABN Amro bank, Seattle branch, ATL Ultrasound, Philips Medical Systems and most recently Sun Microsystems Inc.
Paul was born in Chicago, Ill., but grew up in Lima Peru where his Peruvian father was a gastroenterologist. He has a BA in Political Science from the University of Puget Sound, an MA in Government (focus, Latin America) from the University of Maryland and an MS in Agricultural Economics and Business from the University of Wisconsin.
