Don assumed the role of CEO/Exec Dir in 2013 after having served in a consulting advisory role to Firland for almost three years. He has headed up major manufacturing operations for electronics & healthcare equipment companies for more than 45 years and has provided strategic direction for many other companies in the Puget Sound region. He believes that the “Lean Manufacturing” and “Continuous Improvement Process” are vital to every organization—both on the floor and in the back office. He holds an EMBA from Columbia.

COO–All Shop Operations: Matt Miller

Accomplished executive with extensive experience in the metals industry ranging from fabrication to primary steel making and large open die forge operations serving aerospace, commercial, oil and gas, nuclear and marine markets. He is a proven leader with a strong cross functional business education and work experience including Business Planning, Sales, Operations Planning, Capital Planning, Project Management, Asset Management and ERP Information Systems Planning including Finesse and Oracle Applications implementation, upgrades and ongoing enhancements

Specialties: Manufacturing Leadership; Supply Chain Management; Six Sigma Lean; Efficiency improvement; Information Systems implementation (Oracle, Finesse ERP, Intuitive ERP, Syteline ERP, others).

Master Scheduling: Elick Agler

Elick took over the Master scheduling role in early 2017 and supports the on-time delivery commitments for all Jobs moving thru the Firland Workshop.  He daily provides updates to Boeing and all other customers along with setting the priorities for all shop departments.

Poelzer
Mgr Mill Operations and New Product Quoting and Technical Support:  Mike Poelzer

Mike joined Firland in 2005 and assumed the role of Foreman in 2009.  He is the primary contact for On-Time delivery and all production commitments.  Mike has made great strides in our “continuous process improvement journey” here at Firland.

Office/Quality Systems Manager: Sheri Mark

Sheri is our front office manager and personally over-see’s all POP activity and handles payroll and new products activity.  She joined Firland in 1996.  Sheri heads up our Certification and Audit activities and takes great pride in the review and validation of our Quality System processes.

 

QA Manager: Christopher Bannister

Christopher joined Firland in 2016 and comes with an extensive (25+ years) background in working in Boeing Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement for the aerospace industry.  He is in charge of all CAPA projects and  investigates all component failures and reports on all Quality Metrics.

Planning and New products:  Doug Walker

Doug is our new product’s planning manager and works on new product requirements and releases.  Doug joined Firland in 2008 after another 25 years in the aerospace components business.

Materials Management:  Michael Lee

Mike Lee joined Firland in 2013 and has taken over the implementation of our MRP upgrade project and Materials Management.  Mike comes with some 20 years experience in related Materials Management activities.
